Conversation Analysis Consortium for Thai Universities and Schools
Making interaction visible, analyzable, teachable, and assessable.
The Conversation Analysis Consortium for Thai Universities and Schools (CACTUS) is a collaborative network established to strengthen the development and application of Conversation Analysis (CA) in Thailand and beyond. It brings together teachers, researchers, universities, schools, educational innovators, technology developers, policymakers, professional organizations, government and educational agencies, and international specialists to advance CA-informed research, education, professional development, and innovation.
Conversation Analysis examines how people accomplish social actions through naturally occurring interaction. By making the organization of interaction visible and systematically analyzable, CA offers insights that can inform language teaching and learning, classroom interaction, teacher development, curriculum and materials design, assessment, professional communication, and educational innovation.
Through collaboration across national and international networks, CACTUS seeks to build a sustainable community of researchers and practitioners who can translate insights from the systematic study of interaction into research, educational practice, professional development, and innovation. In doing so, CACTUS connects research with practice, local needs with international expertise, and the study of interaction with practical solutions for education and professional contexts.
